Looking for the best GTX 1060 laptop between brands such as Dell, Acer Predator Helios, some MSI gaming laptops and even Razer models, we have discovered that Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 laptops offer a great favorable balance in price-performance ratio. Given the superior performance of more expensive cards such as GTX 1070 or GTX 1080, those models will also cost much more.
On the other hand, a GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card can easily run all your favorite games at 1080p. This means that it should actually be better than most competitors. And that too, in an economical price range. Basically, it is our benchmark for high-end games without spending too much.
The GTX 1060 notebooks handle everyday activities and workloads well and are profitable if you are looking for the best gaming experience you can get for the money. Most sell for $ 1100 to $ 1500, with some more expensive options with thin and light form factors, premium compilations and specific features.
In terms of gaming performance, GTX 1060 laptops address the latest releases with FHD resolutions and high to maximum settings, but there are exceptions with tax demands that may require you to reduce the details. GTX 1060 laptops are also prepared for VR.

Review of The 5 Best GTX 1060 Laptops
#1 ASUS ROG Strix Hero II
The ASUS GTX 1060 6GB laptop we tested was the iconic ASUS ROG Strix Hero II, it’s a very long name! However, everything is justified: the model is designed with GDR5 RAM with 16 GB melodies and even more if you wish, as well as eighth-generation processors.
There is a reason why we have chosen an ASUS laptop for our favorite GTX 1060 laptop in general. This beast has all the areas covered! For example, it will not be limited to the miserable refresh rates of 60Hz on the screen. In fact, you can go up to 144Hz for softer games with a higher frame rate. You always need great audio quality to make the gaming experience totally immersive. The good thing is that this is the case with the ASUS model we tested. The speakers are above average, as is the synchronization of the battery.
Your GTX 1060 6GB completely complements the i7 processor and, although it is not the highest end of high-performance games, it is talking about medium to high-level quality. For example, when multiple threading can record that the processor works 70 percent faster than the 7700HQ.
Who doesn’t want a first-level gaming laptop that looks and feels the same? ASUS knows what you need. That’s why the new ASUS ROG Strix Hero II comes with an extensive AURA RGB keyboard, as well as a logo and a light bar at the foot of the trackpad. To keep things fresh, you also get three radiators and two built-in fans.
#2 Acer Predator Helios 300
It is true that we were more inclined towards the quality of PC hardware components inside the previous ASUS gaming laptop. As for the specifications, the infamous Acer Predator Helios 300 gaming laptop is almost exactly the same. In addition, the battery life is an impressive 7 hours and the company boasts of having aero blade metal fans that are faster and more efficient than plastic PC fans. Like the MSI gaming laptop below, it also has the red light on the keyboard. However, what you should keep in mind is whether the 256 GB SSD is sufficient or not.
#3 Acer Predator 15
Although, in our opinion, the HP Omen mentioned above exceeds this Acer Predator 15 gaming laptop, the reality is that they will not be so different in terms of the performance they offer. Yes, the HP Omen has the best processor, but the Intel Core i7-7700HQ that comes with the Predator 15 is not far behind. And, in the grand scheme of things, it will not offer significantly lower performance than the Intel Core i7-8750H with which the HP Omen comes.
The Predator 15 also comes with a 144Hz G-Sync screen, to offer you an incredibly fluid game. And it comes with a 256GB SSD and a 1TB hard drive too.
However, in general, it has a smaller screen (15.6″) than that of Omen (17.3″) and also costs ~ $200 more. So while the Acer Predator 15 is a good option for anyone looking for a GTX 1060 laptop, unless it goes on sale, the HP Omen laptop mentioned above is probably your best option.
#4 GIGABYTE Aero 15W v8-BK4
A simple look at this Gigabyte laptop will tell you that it looks more like a professional computer. However, Gigabyte has not broken with its roots! The model is exactly the game beast that you would like it to be. Despite a thickness of only 0.7 inches, it has a great impact!
Although the new Gigabyte Aero 15 model comes with the new GeForce RTX 20 series, we have limited ourselves to GTX 1060 laptops. And in those, there is hardly a model that competes with the 2018 Aero 15 model. It gets a Core i7- 8750H eighth generation. Compared to other processors such as Intel Core i7-7700HQ @ 2.80GHz and i5-8300H @ 2.30GHz, it has a higher overall CPU brand based on better clock speeds, two additional cores, better single-wire classification, etc.
When you have purchased a gaming laptop that includes at least one Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 590, you should not worry about performance bottlenecks. Video games these days really do not require more than that and, ultimately, the only question that arises is about refrigeration systems. The good thing is that Gigabyte Aero 15 is equipped with a specially designed Supra Cool double fan, as well as heating pipes. In addition, fan noise is intelligible.
#5 Dell Gaming Laptop G5
If you mainly play less demanding games and/or need a higher resolution screen for other purposes (professional or design), then you might want to take a look at the Dell Inspiron 4K. It does not come with a high-frequency refresh panel nor does it have NVIDIA G-Sync technology built-in, but it comes with a 4K UHD screen.
Obviously, the higher resolution screen will make running games more challenging for the GTX 1060 on this laptop. But, once again, if you play mainly games that are not very demanding, then this laptop might work for you.
It also comes with an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, 16 GB of DDR4 memory, a huge 512 GB SSD and a 1 TB hard drive. So, in terms of storage, the Dell Inspiron 4K offers the highest storage capacity compared to the other options on this list.
If you are looking for a high-end gaming experience, especially in competitive titles, you might be better off with one of the above options due to its higher refresh rate and G-Sync technology. However, if you want a 4K laptop for the highest screen resolution, the Dell Inspiron 4K is your best choice among GTX 1060 laptops.

Final word
If you are looking for a new gaming laptop and do not want to spend more than $1,500 to get one, these GTX 1060 laptops are probably your best option. The laptop version of the GTX 1060 is strong enough to run any game at 1080P in medium to high settings with an acceptable frame rate. And, some of the above options have high-end features such as a 144Hz refresh rate and NVIDIA G-Sync technology. However, ultimately, if you are looking for a laptop capable of playing, one of the options listed above should work for you.
The Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 is not the best graphics card there is. But it is definitely a value choice for mid-level entry-level games. Therefore, even the previous MSI gaming laptop, with its less than impressive plastic housing, has no performance bottlenecks. The only thing that will matter in addition to your choice between the GTX 1060 6GB and 3GB variants is the cooling. Without performance bottlenecks, cooling and overheating solutions will be the deciding factor.
Sales of laptops are often offered at Amazon, Newegg, and other giant retailers. You can also choose to expect an additional discount. But GTX 1060 laptops are no longer as expensive as laptops, says the GeForce RTX 2080.
