S8 Screen Has Dark Tint

Problem: I was just watching a youtube video on my phone. I put it down for a bit, and when I picked it up again, I saw that there appeared to be a dark tint on the upper part of my screen. I removed my screen protector to see what is happening, but the screen protector was not the one causing the problem. Minutes later, both the top and the bottom of my screen is dark in color, and the only part where I can see the original color of my screen is by a small horizontal strip in the middle. I don’t what I did wrong, I didn’t drop it earlier. So maybe a drop of water went in through the speaker or something. Can my phone still be fixed or is it just broken?

Solution: It looks like the display assembly of the phone has been damaged. You can verify this further by starting the phone in recovery mode then doing a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the problem still occurs after the reset then you will need to have this checked at a service center. It’s very likely that the display assembly will have to be replaced.

S8 Screen Has Vertical Color Lines

Problem: i have just bought an S8 last month, and while I was watching video yesterday, the screen display vertical color lines and I can’t see anything else from the screen, have tried reboot numerous times but still the same, as I bought the phone in the other country, the warranty is only valid to that particular country which will be very troublesome to send it back for repair. is there any other way for me to back up the data or repair it as I can’t even retrieve data through a computer.

Solution: To back up your phone data you can try connecting the phone to a computer with Smart Switch installed. Check if you are able to back up your phone data even if the screen has vertical lines.

In case you can’t back up your phone data then you will need to have the phone repaired first at a service center in order for you to retrieve your phone data.

If you are not concerned about your phone data then you should proceed with starting the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. This will allow you to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch.

If the above step fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Screen Not Working After Getting Wet

Problem: I have dropped my S8 in the pool. At first, a display was okay but the touchscreen was unresponsive. Then after a while display was gone. But the phone was vibrating after receiving SMS and other notifications. I will be grateful if can help me to solve the problem. Important documents were on the phone but I can’t recover it.

Solution: Although this model has a water resistant feature there are instances when water can still enter the phone. This might be what is causing the problem right now. The best thing that you can do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb any moisture inside the phone. Once this is done try checking if the issue still occurs. If it does then the phone is most likely water damaged. You can try to back up your phone data by using Smart Switch however this might not work in this case if you are unable to use the phone display. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Screen Not Responding To Touch

Problem: No reason at all My Samsung S8 screen isn’t responding to touch. I did a soft reset as a screen was originally black got it to come back on but the screen will not react to touch at all what can I do to fix this without having to touch the screen?

Solution: Try starting the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If this does not fix the problem then the display assembly might be damaged. You will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.
